“Pancreatic cancer is one of the leading causes of cancer-related death in NSW.
This year alone, more than 1,100 lives will be lost to this fatal disease and only 15% of people will survive five years after diagnosis.
Investment in research and innovation is key to rapidly translate findings so that we can shift the dial and improve outcomes for people with pancreatic cancer. The Cancer Institute NSW is proud to share progress from a $3.75 million Translational Program Grant that is giving new hope to people in our state and beyond.
Co-led by researchers at the University of NSW and the Garvan Institute of Medical Research, an innovative ‘personalised medicine framework’ for pancreatic cancer is testing new targeted treatments, fostering collaboration, and generating valuable insights into patient outcomes.
Being part-way through the five-year grant, the Institute is excited to support the next steps towards personalised medicine for pancreatic cancer. Learn more about the grant and what it could mean for the future landscape of pancreatic cancer.”
