Yu-Wei Chen, MD, MS, is a board-certified medical oncologist who subspecializes in genitourinary (GU) oncology, treating prostate, kidney, bladder and testicular cancers. As an assistant professor in the Department of Medicine, Dr. Chen works with medical students, residents, and clinical fellows at the UC San Diego School of Medicine. His main research interest lies in developing new therapeutic agents through conducting and designing clinical trials in the field of GU oncology.

Dr. Chen was an awardee of the prestigious American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO)/American Association for Cancer Research (AACR) Methods in Clinical Cancer Research Workshop in 2021. In 2022, Dr. Chen was granted the ASCO Conquer Cancer Foundation Young Investigator Award, and Annual Meeting Merit Award.
