“It was my greatest pleasure and honor to be among the distinguished faculty of the 4th Thoracic Cancer Academy in Zagreb, Croatia, organized by CECOG! This highly scientific and comprehensive meeting gathered together some of the most experienced experts in the field from Central and Eastern Europe: Christoph Zielinski, Tanja Cufer, Marko Jacopovic, Mir Alireza Hoda, D. Radosavljevic, Bojan Zaric, I.Kern, T. Klikovits, J.Spasic, Urzka Janzic, L. Brcic, But Hadzic, C.Aigner, A.Rozman, Tomi Kovacevic (Kovacsevity) … CECOG – congratulations for the perfect organization and big thanks for the sponsors Roche, Merck, AstraZeneca, Bristol Myers Squibb and Pfizer! Even the heavy snow didn’t stop the participants from joining. The presentation of Prof. M. Samardzija illustrated the pioneering screening program for lung cancer in Croatia – you have done a perfect job, dear colleagues! In palliative care, Tomi Kovacevic (Kovacsevity) showed another excellent example of how things can be done even in countries from the Balkan region. The expertise of all participants, the lively discussions, and networking were the things that I will remember about this lovely and friendly meeting. I believe there is always something new to learn from each other, and I am happy Bulgaria was also presented in this event.
