14-year-old Sasha needs our help, and even a modest donation can significantly impact his fight against acute lymphoblastic leukemia.
Sasha is facing this life-threatening challenge for the second time.
Sasha Mkhitaryan is from Erzagavors village in the Shirak region. His journey began in 2021 when he started having frequent nosebleeds. After examinations, Sasha and his family were referred to the Yolyan Hematology and Oncology Center, where on May 1, 2021, he received the diagnosis of acute lymphoblastic leukemia.
Sasha started his journey to overcome the disease, and by June 5, 2023, after completing the initial phase of treatment, he was considered to be in remission.
However, at the beginning of 2024, he began feeling weakness in his legs, and subsequent tests revealed that the disease had unfortunately returned.
Since February 13, 2024, Sasha Mkhitaryan has been supported by the ‘City of Smile’ Charitable Foundation and is undergoing treatment at the Pediatric Cancer and Blood Disorders Center of Armenia with full funding from the Foundation.
Following new protocols, the medical board has concluded that Sasha needs to undergo immunotherapy with 17 vials of Blinatumomab (38.5mg). Each vial costs $1,800 USD (720,000 AMD).
A total of $30,600 USD (12,240,000 AMD) is needed to procure the medication necessary for Sasha’s treatment.
