I was blessed to attend my first APCCC (Advanced Prostate Cancer Consensus Conference) in Lugano, Switzerland over the past few days.
Spectacular lectures and discussions were led by global GU oncology experts and I was overjoyed to meet a number of friends and colleagues from my clinical days.
After more than a decade I had the pleasure of reconnecting with Juan Ignacio Martinez-Salamanca former co-fellow, co-author, and member of the well-reputed ‘Team Tewari’.
My understanding of a number of critical global cancer challenges has increased dramatically as a result of this meeting and I will never forget the physical and intellectual brilliance of Lugano, Silke Gillessen and Aurelius Omlin, respectively.
I now possess clear vision that the USPCC will eventually transform into the APCCC (North American variant) as a massive internationally recognized event…at which point I would relish an opportunity to lecture, again.
I conclude with a heartfelt ‘Congratulations’ to the organizers, a genuine ‘Thank You’ to Bayer Oncology and a commitment to prioritizing this meeting in the future!”
