Quoting American Cancer Society’s post:

“We are pleased to announce Katie McCarty Weinnig will be leading the organizationas the senior executive director of development in Louisiana and East Texas.

Katie has over 15 years of demonstrated success with the American Cancer Society as a top performer within the organization. Her experience spans staff and volunteer development, donor relations and growth, as well as enhancing the impact of the ACS mission within communities throughout Louisiana and East Texas.

Katie’s career with ACS began in 2008 as a community representative, leading five American Cancer Society Relay For Life events. In 2010, Weinnig was promoted to area director for Southwest and Central Louisiana and was later promoted to senior director of Relay For Life in Louisiana and Arkansas in 2014. She most recently served as senior director of development for Louisiana and East Texas.

As the senior executive director of development for ACS, Katie will be responsible for driving revenue development strategies to support our vision to end cancer as we know it, for everyone. Additionally, she will work alongside leadership team members to advance relationships with key stakeholders and volunteers to ensure ACS’ patient support programs, advocacy efforts, and critical cancer research continue to remain fully funded for the future.

Katie’s passion to end cancer was sparked at a young age when she lost her father at eleven years old to a four-year battle with bone cancer. She is a Louisiana native and received a bachelor’s in mass communication from McNeese State University.”
