“Fantastic to have our Co-founders Yvonne Diaz and Jan Clark attend BTOG24 in Belfast this week.
So many incredible presentations and posters. Big highlight came from Professor Charles Swanton of The Francis Crick Institute who presented an incredible keynote on their research finding that exposure to particulate matter (PM2. 5) in the air promotes the growth of cells in the lungs which carry cancer-causing mutations like EGFR. He also mentioned that they’re developing an ALK mouse model – stay tuned.
We return informed and full of hope thanks to all the great work undertaken by the dedicated clinicals, researchers, nurses and patient advocates. Amazing to convene over 1k multidisciplinary thoracic professionals all focused on improving outcomes.”
