Mia Levy: A few highlights from my time at ASCO24

Mia Levy, Chief Medical Officer at Foundation Medicine, shared a post on LinkedIn:

”And that concludes ASCO24! This was my 3rd ASCO meeting with Foundation Medicine, and as always, I walked away from the annual gathering just as energized and excited about the changing future of cancer care and research.

In addition to the impactful engagements I had with cancer experts and partners, I wanted to share a few highlights from my time at the conference:

• Participating in the STAT at ASCO event, where I sat down with Matthew Herper for a fireside chat to share how the latest advancements in biomarker testing are paving the way for better lung cancer treatment. This is such an important conversation, and I also enjoyed hearing from other industry leaders. If you want to learn more about this topic, be sure to check out my recent blog on the same topic here.
• Hearing and seeing the incredible amount of new research presented in plenary sessions, oral presentations, oral abstract sessions and poster sessions. I left feeling particularly inspired by all of the progress in lung and breast cancer. I’m proud of the strong showing our Foundation Medicine team had with over 20 poster presentations, highlighting the important role genomic profiling continues to play in cancer care and research.
• Connecting with patient advocate Summer Farmen, who shared her story of living with ALK-Positive lung cancer and how genomic profiling testing changed the trajectory of her treatment at our annual Sunday evening reception. Summer is a testament to the work we do every day and why we will never stop working to change the future of cancer care.

Here’s to continuing the momentum from this weekend throughout the year to transform cancer care.”
