Zainab Shinkafi-Bagudu: I have seen the high-stress levels our oncology nurses are under and thank them for their tireless commitment to cancer care

Zainab Shinkafi-Bagudu shared a post on LinkedIn:

“To mark this year’s International Nurses Day, a workshop was organized at MEDICAID CANCER FOUNDATION for oncology nurses around Abuja.

Our ongoing partnership with BIO Ventures for Global Health, nssf
BIO Ventures for Global Health, Project PINK BLUE, and the Nigeria Solidarity Support Fund explores strategies, innovative solutions, and best practices to tackle the challenges in cancer care.

At Medicaid Cancer Foundation, we are committed to advancing oncology nursing in Nigeria and this is exemplified through initiatives like BVGH’s Digital Oncology Training in Kebbi State, benefiting over 700 nurses, and collaborative workshop with Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine, J and J, and Real Visionaries, which birthed Project BOND (Building Oncology Nursing Dynamism).

I want to extend my heartfelt appreciation to all our participants, from National Hospital, Abuja, FMC Jabi, and UATH, Gwagwalada, for their invaluable contributions to the remarkable success of this workshop. I further celebrate them for resisting the urge to relocate to richer economies.

I have seen the high-stress levels our oncology nurses are under and thank them for their tireless commitment to cancer care. Your hard work and dedication do not go unnoticed.

Thank you for your invaluable contribution to the fight against cancer.”
