DESCRIPTION:Comprehensive and Practical Brachytherapy by ESTRO 14-18 June\, 2025 at Porto\, Portugal. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThis course is designed for trainees in radiotherapy\, radiation oncologists\, medical physicists\, and radiation therapists (RTTs) who wish to stay updated on the latest advancements in brachytherapy. It serves as a fundamental introduction to the principles of brachytherapy and is highly recommended as a foundation for specialized courses in prostate cancer\, gynecological cancer\, and advanced medical physics brachytherapy. \nThe course covers key topics such as the historical evolution of brachytherapy\, sources\, afterloading systems\, imaging\, dosimetry\, and the essentials of ICRU reports. It also addresses radiobiology\, radioprotection\, and the organization of a brachytherapy department. Participants will explore technical and dosimetric aspects of interstitial\, endoluminal\, and endocavitary brachytherapy. Clinical topics include gynecological cancers (cervix\, endometrium)\, head and neck cancers (oral cavity\, oropharynx)\, urological cancers (e.g.\, prostate seed implants)\, breast cancer (e.g.\, APBI)\, skin\, bladder\, and pediatric malignancies.
