“Grateful and honored by this appointment, I proudly and gratefully share my new assignment within the International Union for Cancer Control, period 2024-2026.
As treasurer of this organization, based in Geneva, Switzerland, I am now part of its Executive Committee, a responsibility that increases my commitment to the control of cancer at a global level.
Many thanks to our President, Ulrika Årehed Kågström for her trust and appointment, to our CEO, Cary Adams for his daily teaching, since 2020 and, of course, to the finance team within the UICC, with whom I will coordinate the Finance, Risk and Audit Committee for the next two years.
I would like to point out that this position was occupied by our current president and also by our former president, Jeff Dunn, that is, both were Treasurers before being nominated as President-elect and winning the election, so my commitment increases by having them as references in this position.
Always with my admiration and respect for both, as well as for our President-elect, Zainab Shinkafi-Bagudu.
I carry with me the honor of representing not only Mexico but also our region, Latin America.
Thank you very much, Cancer Warriors Foundation of Mexico team, for this congratulation!”
