SUMMARY:Momentum 2026: Accelerating Europe’s Action On Cancer
DESCRIPTION:Taking place 14–16 October at Artipelag\, Stockholm\, Momentum is a high-level summit convened by the CancerFonden – Swedish Cancer Society\, bringing together a carefully curated group of leaders from across sectors — policymakers\, healthcare leaders\, patient representatives\, researchers\, industry and investors — with a shared ambition: to accelerate Europe’s action on cancer. \nAcross Europe\, world-class cancer research discoveries are being made\, yet too often they take too long to reach patients. The gap between research\, decision-making\, and real-world impact remains one of our greatest missed opportunities. Through roundtable discussions and co-creation sessions\, participants engage directly with the barriers holding progress back and contribute to shaping solutions\, with key issues including funding\, regulation\, data\, clinical trials and the uptake of innovation on the agenda. \n\nEarly sign-up deadline: 30 June \nFinal registration deadline: 17 August\n\nRegister now.

SUMMARY:2026 IBRI Global Forum on Science\, Philanthropy\, and Investment
DESCRIPTION:The inaugural IBRI Global Forum on Science\, Philanthropy\, and Investment will be held on Thursday\, October 29\, 2026\, from 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the Eiteljorg Museum in Indianapolis\, Indiana. \nThe forum convenes leaders across science\, philanthropy\, and investment to explore how their combined strengths can accelerate translational medicine and drug development\, from discovery to patients. Designed as a catalyst for collaboration\, the event centers on one of the most complex challenges in life sciences: how to more effectively turn breakthrough research into therapies that improve health outcomes worldwide. Through a keynote address and panel discussion\, world-renowned experts will examine how aligned funding\, rigorous science\, and strategic investment can shorten development timelines\, de-risk innovation\, and scale impact. \nKeynote Speaker\nWilliam G. Kaelin\, Jr.\, MD\, is the keynote speaker for the forum. Dr. Kaelin is a Nobel Laureate in Physiology or Medicine (2019) and a leading physician-scientist at Harvard Medical School and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. His research seeks to understand how mutations in tumor-suppressor genes cause cancer\, and his work has led to fundamental insights into how cells sense and respond to changes in oxygen\, helping lay the foundation for the development of new therapies for cancer and other diseases. \nPanel Discussion\nFollowing the keynote\, Dr. Kaelin will join a moderated panel discussion alongside other leaders across science\, philanthropy\, and investment: \n\nModerator: Amir Pasic\, PhD — IU Lilly Family School of Philanthropy\nLaura Grannemann — Gilbert Family Foundation and Rocket Community Fund\nVincent Cordero — UChicago Polsky Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation\n\nRegistration\nRegistration for the event is now open.
